Syed Murtaza Amin Shah

Syed Murtaza Amin Shah is a Muslim writer, poet, politician and religious scholar from Pakistan. He is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, English and uses an advanced level of Persian. He is also member of the Pakistan National Assembly since 2008 for the NA-113 Sialkot constituency.

Family background

He is the son of a scholar named Syed Khalid Hasan Shah. His ancestors belong to the Syed family of Allo Mahar Sharif.His grandfather Syed Faiz-ul Hassan Shah was a well-known Islamic orator in Pakistan (his mausoleum is in Allo Mahar Sharif).

Education

Amin Shah received his primary and secondary education in the ity of Gujranwala and got his Masters degree from Punjab University, Lahore.

Political career

He took part in the Pakistan elections of 2003. His main reasons for joining politics was to improve the state of human rights and justice. He joined the Pakistan Muslim League N. Another goal was to remove corruption and the role of money in Pakistani politics. His uncle Syed Iftakhar ul Hassan Shah Almaroof Zahray Shah is a well known Pakistani politician (a Member of National Assembly of Pakistan in 1998). Another uncle, Syed Hasnat ul Hassan Shah, is Chairman of District Sialkot. He was elected as member from Sialkot in the Pakistani general election, 2008.

Religious career

Amin Shah was greatly concerned when the caricatures mocking the Prophet Muhammad were published in newspapers around Europe. At present he is leader of the Allo Mahar Sharif religious family. He delivers lectures in different parts of the world: he delivers a speech on the topic of Waliullah (friends of Allah) annually on March 23 because it is the day for celebration of services for his ancestors. A lot of people from different parts of the world join him at this moment.
